These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Hub 4 Mech (the "Service"), including the website, its notes, practice problems, interactive apps, community features and related services. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Cookie Policy, the Community Guidelines and the Content and Copyright Policy, which form part of these Terms.
1. The Service
Hub 4 Mech is an educational platform for engineering mechanics. Members can read and write notes, publish and solve practice problems, run and publish interactive apps, comment, vote, save favourites, send private messages and earn reputation points. Features may change, be added or be removed as the Service develops.
2. Who may use the Service
- You must be at least 13 years old. If you are below the age of digital consent in your country, you may only use the Service with the permission of a parent or guardian.
- You must provide accurate information when you create an account and keep it up to date.
- Accounts are personal. One person may not use another person's account, and you may not create accounts to evade a suspension.
3. Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for all activity under your account.
- Your member id is chosen at sign-up and is public; it cannot be changed later.
- Tell us immediately (with the feedback button or a message) if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
4. Your content
"Your content" means everything you submit: notes, problems, solutions, apps, images, comments, messages, feedback and profile information.
- You keep the copyright and any other rights you have in your content.
- You grant Hub 4 Mech a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for example resize images or format text), publish, display and distribute your content within the Service and its promotion, for as long as the content is on the Service. Details are in the Content and Copyright Policy.
- You confirm that you have the right to submit your content, that it does not infringe the rights of others and that you cite the sources you used.
- New content may be reviewed before it is published. Editors may correct obvious errors in formatting, ask you for changes, decline to publish, or take content offline (status passive).
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law, or upload content that is illegal, harmful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or violent;
- infringe copyright, trademarks or other rights - including uploading textbook pages, solution manuals or exam questions you are not allowed to share;
- help others cheat in graded exams or assignments where this is forbidden by the institution;
- send spam, advertising or unsolicited messages, or manipulate votes, views or reputation points;
- upload apps or files containing malicious code, or try to break, overload, scan or gain unauthorised access to the Service;
- collect personal data of other members, or impersonate another person.
The Community Guidelines explain these rules with examples.
6. Interactive apps
Apps run in your browser in an isolated environment. Authors are responsible for the apps they publish. Results of apps and solutions are provided for learning purposes; always verify them before using them in design, construction or any safety-relevant decision.
7. Reputation points
Points and milestones are a recognition of contributions within the Service. They have no monetary value, cannot be transferred or exchanged, and may be corrected if they were earned by mistake or by manipulation.
8. Moderation and suspension
We may remove content or restrict, suspend or close accounts that break these Terms or the Community Guidelines, or that put the Service or other members at risk. Where reasonable we tell you why and give you the opportunity to respond.
9. Ending your use
You may stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account by sending a message or feedback. Published contributions that others have built on (for example answers in a discussion) may remain in anonymised form where removing them would break the context; you can ask for specific items to be removed.
10. Disclaimer
The Service and its content are provided "as is" for educational purposes. Content is written by members and, although reviewed, may contain errors. To the extent permitted by law we give no warranty that the content is complete, correct or fit for a particular purpose, or that the Service will be available without interruption.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Hub 4 Mech is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for damages caused by relying on content of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for intent or gross negligence.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Important changes are announced on the site or by message at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after that date, the new Terms apply.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live.
