Hub 4 Mech is built by students and teachers who want to learn mechanics together. These guidelines keep it a helpful, honest and friendly place. They apply to everything you post: content, comments, messages, feedback and profiles.

Be respectful
Disagree with ideas, never attack people.
Be accurate
Check your work, cite sources, fix mistakes.
Respect authors
Share only what you may share.

1. Be respectful

  • Be kind and patient - everyone was a beginner once.
  • No insults, harassment, hate speech, threats or discrimination.
  • Do not share other people's personal data.

2. Write quality content

  • Explain clearly, define symbols and units, and show the steps of derivations.
  • Use headings, figures with captions and worked examples (see Writing with the editor).
  • Cite your sources and use tags that describe the topic.
  • When someone reports a mistake, check it and correct it.

3. Academic honesty

  • Do not post solutions to live graded assignments or exams, or ask others to solve them for you.
  • Explain and teach - the goal is understanding, not copying answers.
  • Do not present other people's work as your own.
  • Do not upload scanned textbook pages, solution manuals or figures you are not allowed to use.
  • Draw your own figures or use openly licensed material, and credit it.
  • See the Content and Copyright Policy.

5. Good discussions

  • Keep comments on topic and constructive; ask precise questions.
  • Vote for helpful comments instead of writing "+1".
  • Use private messages for personal conversations, not for spam or advertising.

6. Not allowed

Spam
Advertising, repeated posts, link farms.
Manipulation
Fake votes, multiple accounts, farming points.
Harmful files
Malicious code in apps or files.
Illegal content
Anything illegal, explicit or violent.

7. Reporting and consequences

Report problems with the feedback button. Depending on the case, the team may edit or remove content, warn, temporarily restrict or close accounts. Repeated or serious violations lead to permanent removal.
